Picking Up Girls Is Like Playing Pokemon

You probably didn’t know this about me, but I was a Pokemon player in high school. I had emerald on my Gameboy Advance SP and would play with my friends in the mornings and at lunch.

Shit was lit.

If you’re familiar with Pokemon Showdown, we might have played random battles against each other on the Gen 9 ladder.

I say this to say, picking up girls is exactly like playing Pokemon. To a tee…

You, the trainer, go into the wild, the tall grass, the same exact way. Today we refer to them as bars, clubs, malls or wherever fine women or “wild Pokemon” can be found.

Some trainers feel comfortable going after lower level wild Pokemon, AKA the level 4 Rattata you can find at the beginning of the game.

Other trainers feel comfortable going after legendaries, the true gems of the game, the Rayquaza’s and Suicines of the wild.

The correlation between beautiful women and ugly women is there.

The funny thing is, no matter how high of a level you get a rattata, level 100 let’s say, at the end of the day, it’s still a rattata.

I say this because I want more for you than to have a roster full of rattatas, or even worse, just one rattata that you play your game with.

The reason some trainers stick to the same routes and the same wild Pokemon is comfortability. They’re comfortable failing at an engagement with that wild Pokemon because it’s familiar to them and they won’t feel shame or guilt if it doesn’t work out.

Fuck that way of thinking.

There’s no glory in snagging a caterpie.

Go out there, get bloodied up, white out and end up back at the Pokemon center, and do it all over again. Become comfortable chasing after the Articunos, the Moltres of the game.

It won’t be easy but that’s the point.

I’d rather you learn how to become great at catching the legendary Pokemon, the beautiful women that you want, than being great at catching fucking rattatas on route 6.

You’ll never level up your mudkip to a swampert if you don’t put it into battle.

You develop what you put time into.

If you struggle with approaching women, that’s exactly what you need to do. You’ll never get better at it by training other Pokemon.
